Helsingør, Elsinore in English, with its picturesque, cobbled streets, is located right by the sea, just 40 minutes from Copenhagen. It is home to Kronborg Castle, world-famous from Shakespeare's Hamlet and one of northern Europe's most important Renaissance castles and dominates the coastal town. The new cultural harbour includes the modern M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark and connects the castle with the city centre.
The main attraction in Klampenborg is Bakken, the oldest amusement park in the world. Close by is Dyrehaven, a wonderful green park perfect for picnics. If you go on the boat trip Baadfarten you should also pay a visit to the Open-Air Museum Old Denmark.
